Nadine Skeen- Spanish & French Consultant

Nadine has a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages from the University of the West  Indies, a Diploma in Education and Training from H.E.A.R.T and a certificate in teaching Spanish as a second language from University of Santiago, Chile. Nadine has been described by her peers as a dynamic individual, filled with confidence.  She taught Spanish at a High School in Kingston for fifteen years where she was also head of the Modern Languages Department.   During these years she has  won several awards and as testimony to her commitment to teaching, had one of her students place fourth in the Caribbean for French.  She also taught Spanish in  South Carolina, United States for five years where she was the cultural ambassador.  Nadine returned to Jamaica where she now teaches Spanish.

It can be said that she goes above and beyond for her students pulling in current events and relative information.  She works very hard to show the students why they need to know a foreign language and really gets students motivated and interested in learning. She uses engaging and relevant lessons to ensure the success of all students.  She has traveled to Cuba, Panama and Martinique which has significantly enhanced her fluency and understanding of the dynamism and nuances of a foreign language.

Nadine contributes to the Spanish lessons and is an integral part of our ideas committee.
